Mediterranean Landscapes

The Mediterranean landscape here reveals itself as an abstract dream: sinuous lines, golden tones, vegetation dancing in the wind. Between geometry and nature, between earth and dream, each image is a fragment of a visual narrative that weaves Italian tradition together with a gaze turned toward the East.

Paesaggio Mediterraneo

Mediterranean landscape. Metaphysical city. 2025. Virtual painting.

The city is a living organism, made of forms, colours and structures that converse with one another in an ever-shifting balance. In Italy, the urban landscape is the result of centuries of history, art and culture — an interweaving of eras and influences reflected in its architecture and its piazzas. The city is not only a physical space, but a dimension of the soul, a place where past and future meet. In these twelve drawings, I wanted to explore the boundary between reality and abstraction, between order and chaos, between structure and freedom, but also between city and nature. The tension between these elements generates suspended landscapes, in which architecture breaks apart and recomposes itself in a play of volumes and colours. Streets, buildings and piazzas emerge as fragments of a visual narrative, in which the rationality of geometry mingles with the organic vitality of nature. As an Italian artist, my gaze is rooted in my own cultural tradition, but is also fascinated by Eastern thought, by its capacity to harmonise fullness and emptiness, the visible and the invisible. China, with its long history and its philosophical vision of space, offers a unique perspective on what is unchanging and what transforms. This book was born of the desire to build a bridge between these two cultures, to explore through sign and colour a shared language that speaks of cities, of time, and of infinite possibilities. This small visual journey is an invitation to look at the city with new eyes, to lose ourselves in its details, in its unexpected perspectives, in its silences and its tensions. Each image is an open door onto a world where memory and imagination merge, leaving room for new interpretations. Welcome this visual journey, let yourself be guided by the encounter between reality and imagination, and discover the changing pulse of the city.
