"Surrealism is the dictation of thought, in the absence of any control exercised by reason." André Breton
The territory in which no category holds alone: works that simultaneously inhabit the physical and the digital, exist as material objects and as data, and require both hand and code to be fully understood. Sensors and algorithms allow these works to perceive human presence and respond to it, in a continuous cycle between stimulus and response. These works resist classification as either traditional sculpture or pure digital art. They are hybrid objects in the deepest sense: their form is inseparable from the process that generated them — a process that continuously crosses the boundary between the physical and virtual worlds.
